Masala Chaach (Spicy Buttermilk)

The most common kitchen ingredient of summer is curd/yogurt. It is often used in dishes and desserts. Today, using it, I am sharing the summer’s best welcome drink Masala Chaach that gives instant relief from the soaring temperature of the season.
Nutrition benefits of Masala Chaach
The Masala chaach/ Buttermilk constitute water, milk sugar lactose, and the milk protein casein. A glass of Masala Chaach, generally renders, 98 calories, 22% of calcium and vitamin B12 daily value. It is known to provide 8 gms of proteins and 12 gms carbohydrates.
It improves digestion system, oral health and bone density. It helps in reducing cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
Ingredients
4-5 Table spoon curd
1 cup water
Salt to taste
1 tbsp –roasted cumin seeds powder
1 tbsp –ghee
Pinch of heeng
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
½ tea spoon – red chilli powder
½ cup of coriander leaves
Method
Take 4-5 table spoon of curd in a bowl
Add 1 cup of water, salt and raster cumin seed powder.
Churn/grind it well, so that there are no curd lumps left
Now, on a low flame heat-up 1 tbsp of ghee
To this heated ghee, add pinch of heeng, 1 tea spoon cumin seeds, ½ tea spoon red chilli powder and ½ cup of coriander leaves
Add this to the grinded curd
Drink this regularly to boost the digestive system and stay hydrated in the dehydrating summers.
